Earl W. Koopman

     Earl W. Koopman, 82, of Sparta, died Friday, June 5, 2020 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Sparta. He was born on May 8, 1938 to Katherine Koopman.

     Earl is survived by his wife, Rita of Sparta; son, Douglas W. Koopman of Sparta; stepson, John (Lydia) Roe of Onalaska; three grandchildren, Samantha Hopp of Stevens Point, WI, Damon Hopp of Stevens Point, Alyssa Koopman of Pulaski, WI; siblings, Edna Fogel-Lawrence of La Crosse, Phyllis Tracey of Oshkosh, Edward (Evelyn) Bebee of Brownsville, MN, Susan Bebee of Sparta, Barbara (Wayne) Larsen of Oshkosh, and Valerie (Rodney) Thurston of Sparta.

     He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Koopman; mother, Katherine Bebee; and a brother, Emil.

     A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta, with Reverend Randy Williamson officiating. Burial with full military honors provided by VFW Post 2112 will be in Mt Hope Cemetery, Sparta.

     Family and friends are invited to call from 10 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home with social distancing being observed.
