Eugene G. Jotham, 73, of Cataract, passed away Monday, August 3, 2020, at his home with his wife by his side. He was born on September 24, 1946, to Roy and Sarah (Livangood) Jotham in Sparta.
Eugene grew up on the family farm and lived in Cataract his whole life. He married Bonnie Brown, they had one daughter, Sarah Marie. They later divorced. He married Barbara (Yeoman) Gilbertson in 1979 and gained a step-daughter, Kimberly Gilbertson.
Eugene had a love of antique John Deere tractors and would spend hours restoring them. He also enjoyed pulling his tractors in the antique tractor pulls and did quite well at it. Eugene later came to enjoy singing karaoke, especially Johnny Cash and threw many parties in his garage.
Eugene is survived by his wife Barbara; daughters, Sarah (Dale) Martinson and Kimberly (Brian) Kabat; four grandsons, three granddaughters, and eight great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his brothers, William (Sharon) Jotham and Carson (Karen) Jotham; and a sister, Leone Lakowske.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Sarah; his sisters, Phyllis (Grayson) Brooks and Whyliss (Kenneth) Brooks, and Alice (Chester) Millard; a brother, Fredrick Jotham; and a brother-in-law, Douglas Lakowske.
Visitation for Eugene will be from 9:30-10:50 a.m. on Friday, August 7, at the Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, at the Cataract Cemetery, Cataract. Reverend Robbie Nowicki will officiate.
