Everette S. Brueggeman

Everette S. Brueggeman, 93, of Sparta, died Saturday, July 29, 2023 at his home. He was born on December 24, 1929 to Sylvester and Florence (Thomas) Brueggeman. He grew up in the Sparta and Bangor areas.

Everette married Margaret Van Kirk on October 21, 1948 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sparta. They lived their entire married lives in Sparta.

Everette worked as superintendent for Monroe County Highway Department for 38 years. He built homes in Sparta and enjoyed carpentry work. He loved playing BINGO.

Everette is survived by his children, Dennis (Sandra) Brueggeman, Dobie (Melody) Brueggeman, and Rodney (Vicky Jo) Brueggeman all of Sparta; eight grandchildren, Chad (Tammy), Wade, Jessica (Tim), Matt (Cindy), Troy, Doug (Jenny), Mike (Melissa), and Aaron; 16 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; sister, Eileen (Ron) Rasmussen; and sisters-in-law, Mary Siekert, Ruth Parker, and Leona Hagen. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret on December 10, 2018; and siblings, Gerald, LaVern, Ike, Darlene Steinbrink, and Gladys Peters.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 13, 2023 in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Sparta, with Father Eric Berns officiating. Online condolences may be offered at www.schanhoferfh.com
