Gerald “Wiener” O. Shawley, 68, of Kendall and formerly of Sparta, died Friday, October 29, 2021 at his son’s home. He was born on May 11, 1953 in La Crosse, WI to Harry and Beverly (Mullet) Shawley. He grew up in the Burns and Bangor area.
Gerald married Pamela Tuthill on June 21, 1975 at Cataract United Methodist Church. They lived in Coles Valley and Angelo before moving to the Kendall area in September 2021. He worked at Sparta Manufacturing for 28 years and retired from Carlisle Food and Sanitation in 2018.
Gerald was the president of Angelo Oak Grove Cemetery Association and a member of the Wisconsin Laborers Association. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He worked very hard all his life.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Pamela of Kendall; children, Kevin Shawley of Sparta and Raymond Shawley of Kendall; grandchildren, Rachel, Holton, Laney, Harper, Kaden, Xavier, Serena, Mariha, and Dakota; siblings, Daisy Buckannon, Sharon Sheehan, Cliff (JoAnn) Shawley, Martin (Mary Lou) Shawley, Don (JoAnn) Shawley, Ron (JoAnn) Shawley, Beverly (Pete) Robertson, and Pamela L. Shawley; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Gerlad P. Shawley; brother, Harry Shawley; sister, Harriet “Mabel” Conway; niece, Trinnett McKinnon; and two brothers-in-law, Ron and Don McKinnon.
A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Angelo Oak Grove Cemetery, Angelo. If inclement weather, services will be held at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation, Sparta.
Family and friends are invited to call from 2 p.m. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
