Gerald F. Zebell

Gerald "Jerry" F. Zebell, 61, of Sparta, died Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems, La Crosse. He was born on June 26, 1961, to Werner and Margaret (Miller) Zebell, in Sparta. He grew up in Cashton and graduated from Cashton High School.

Jerry worked on the family farm. He married Anna R. Ostrem on July 22, 1980 in Westby. They later moved to Viroqua. He worked at Northern Engraving in West Salem for 39 years. He and his wife recently relocated to Sparta. In Gerald’s free time, he enjoyed spending time with his kids, grandchildren, fishing, camping, and taking long walks.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Anna Zebell of Sparta; children, Sueann (Dylan) McCune of Strum, Leeann (Gilbert) Morales of Sparta, and Geraldeen (Matthew) Hernandez of Black River Falls; grandchildren, Jerome, Alex, Dontae, Joaquin, Alexis, Lilyana, Issac, Aurora, Ella, Miguel, Myles, and Cataleya; siblings, Richard (Katherine) Zebell, Glen (Audrey) Zebell, Eugene Zebell, John Zebell, Caroline (Warren) Stalsberg, Louise (Walter) Olson, Mary (Maynard) Forrest, Donna (Duanne) Rodenberg, Phyllis (Steven) Parmenter, Joan (Donald) Verken, and Patricia (John) Herricks.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Werner and Margaret Zebell; and brother, David.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, September 9, 2022 at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation, Sparta, with Pastor Brock Williamson officiating. A visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
