Gerald "Jerry" L. Hoppe

Gerald “Jerry” Lee Hoppe passed away peacefully at his home on November 12, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones.

Jerry was born April 3, 1941 to Herbert and Anna Hoppe of Wausau, Wisconsin.   After meeting the love of his life, Elaine Schwarz at the roller rink they were married on September 28, 1968, at St. John’s the Baptist Catholic Church at Summit Ridge, Norwalk.  They enjoyed 55 years of marriage.

Jerry had many hobbies including wood burning and gel coloring when he was feeling creative.  He enjoyed gardening with Elaine and spending time with family.

He is survived by his six adopted children, many grand and great-grand children; sibling, Nancy (Wayne) Scott, Elaine Hoppe, and Mary Borchardt.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and sisters, Audrey Hoppe, Betty (Bill) Pusheck, and Carol (Ted) Kemna.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 512 McClellan St, Wausau, WI 54403, with Reverend Karoline Schwantes officiating. Private burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau.
