Harriet L. Bohl

     Harriet L. Bohl, 86, of Sparta, died Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Gundersen Health System, La Crosse. She was born on November 19, 1934 in Bangor, WI to Fred and Marie (Stegeman) Herman.

     Harriet married Virgil W. Bohl on May 19, 1956 in Bangor. He passed away on December 25, 1978.

     Harriet was a homemaker, taking care of her children and grandchildren. She also babysat in her home for many years. She spent her entire life living between Sparta and the family cabin in Hatfield.

     Harriet was a remarkably strong and independent woman. She loved her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and taking care of others. She loved life.

     Harriet is survived by her children, Wayne (Sherri) Bohl and Lisa (Kevin) Jenkins both of Sparta; grandchildren, Brad (Shelley) Bohl, Leah Jenkins, and Colby Jenkins all of Sparta; great grandchildren, Hayden and Haylee; sisters, Deloris Coburn of Whitehall, Joyce Adams of West Salem, Lois Buchner of La Crosse, and Carol Liefke of Milton; sister-in-law, Eileen Herman of West Salem; and many nieces and nephews.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Virgil; brother, Everett Herman; and sister, Hazel Miller.

     A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation, Sparta, with Reverend Mark Kvale officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sparta.

     Family and friends are invited to call from 10 a.m. until time of services on Friday at the funeral home.
