Helen E. Taylor

     Helen E. Taylor, 88, of Sparta, passed away, Tuesday, April 28, 2020, at her home.

     She was born May 14, 1931, in Wellington Township, Monroe County, Wis., to George and Beonka (Krueger) Van Kirk. On October 20, 1951, Helen married Robert Taylor in Iowa. He preceded her in death on March 8, 1999. Helen was a homemaker in addition to working various jobs in Sparta.

     Survivors include 10 children, Robert (Judy) Van Kirk, Lois (Steve) North, Edith Taylor, Donna Kadow, Debra Sheire, Arlene (Howard) Kneifl, George Taylor, Vicki (Mark) Bernarde, James Taylor, and Dean (Cathy) Taylor; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Siekert; brother-in-law, Everette Brueggeman; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

     In addition to her husband, Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Barbara Van Kirk; two sisters, Dorothy and Margaret; and four brothers, George, William, Donald, and Kenneth. Private graveside services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of the Gundersen Health System Hospice Program.
