Jeanette E. Andringa

Jeanette E. Andringa, 86, of Sparta, died Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at her home surrounded by family. She was born in Sparta on December 27, 1937, to Herman and Alice (Carr) Schanhofer. She was a graduate of Sparta High School class of 1955. She married Lauren Andringa who passed away in 1987. She had one daughter, Sandra Ann.

Jeanette was the Office Manager and bookkeeper for the Monroe County Highway Department for 42 years. She was an avid bowler, golfer, reader of mystery books, and yard worker.

Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Sandra Ann (Bruce); grandchildren, Brad (Shelley), Kyle, Quinten, and Madelyn (Shawn); great grandchildren, Hayden and Haylee; and sister, Marilyn (Bob).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lauren; her parents, Herman and Alice; 6 brothers along with their spouses, Donald (Ronnie), Ted (Joan), John (Fran), Mike (Bonnie), Paul Robert “Bob”, who was killed in action in Korea, and Patrick who died at birth; 3 sisters along with their spouses, Sally (Wayne), Marjorie “Jo” (Ray), and Anita (Sherwin).

The family extends sincere thanks and gratitude for the special care provided by the Gundersen Hospice Staff.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 5, 2024, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, with Father Eric Berns officiating. Private burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sparta.

A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation, Sparta, and 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Friday at the church.
