Jeanette A. Olson

Jeanette A. Olson, 88, of Sparta, died Thursday, April 20, 2023 at her home. She was born on March 12, 1935 in Westby, WI to Elmer and Alice (Blackburn) Anderson.

Jeanette married Irvin Olson on May 7, 1954. They moved to California in June of 1957 and raised their children. She retired in 1996 and moved back to Sparta. She raised her granddaughter, Krista (Alex) Spiegel from 1996 until her graduation from Sparta High School in 2001.

Jeanette enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and loved the family dog, Maggie.

Jeanette is survived by her husband, Irvin; children, Sherry (Louis) Getpradit of Downey, CA, Mark Olson of Springfield, MO, Sandra Olson of Sparta, David Olson of Sparta, and Lisa Lopez of Sparta; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Janice Hudson of Pace, FL, Linda Oganda of Norwalk, CA, Nancy Young of Niceville, FL, Elmer (Marian) Anderson Jr. of Necedah, WI, Anne (Jerard) Mageland of Hixton, WI, Carol (Denis) Murati of Hurley, NM, Patricia (Roger) Clapper of Belt, MT, David Anderson of Janesville, WI, Charles (Kris) Anderson of Green Bay, WI, and Gregory (Karen) Anderson of Prescott, WI; and many nieces, nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Richard Olson; siblings, Thomas Anderson, Stephen Anderson, Douglas Anderson, and Kathy Grubbs.

A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation, Sparta, with Reverend Randy Williamson officiating. Burial will follow in Leon Cemetery, Leon.
