JoAnne Kay Dutton, Sparta, age 66, passed away peacefully on January 25th, 2020 at Rolling Hills Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 15, 1953, in Black River Falls, to the late Milton and Alvera (Johnson) Armstrong. JoAnne graduated from Sparta High School and was a life-long resident of Sparta. On July 25, 1971, she married Wallace Dutton at Trinity Lutheran in Sparta. JoAnne worked as a Nursing Assistant at the Tomah V.A. Hospital for 28 years until her retirement in 2013. Her family was her greatest love and joy. She loved watching her sons and grandsons participate in wrestling and baseball.
JoAnne is survived by her husband of 48 years, Wallace; children, Joel (Kathy) Dutton of Kenosha, Wis., and Kevin (Miriam Santiago) Dutton of Chicago, Ill.; grandsons, Reese, Riley and Rory Dutton.
She is further survived by her sisters, Edith (Leonard) Richmond and Patricia Armstrong; brother, Milt “Johnny” Armstrong; sisters-in-law, Pam (Mike) Fisher, Margie (Steve) Morawiec and Terry Waterworth; nieces, nephews, many relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, JoAnne was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ralph and Yolanda Dutton; sister, Donna Travis; and sister-in-law, Bonita Dutton. There will be no services at this time; an interment will be held in the spring; arrangements will be announced. Remembrances may be made in the form of an act of kindness to continue JoAnne’s unselfishness love. Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta, is assisting the family with arrangements.
JoAnne’s family would like to thank her doctors, as well as the caring staff at Rolling Hills for the excellent and loving care she received. We are forever grateful.
