John E. Konze

   John E. Konze, 67, of Cataract, died Friday, June 26, 2020 as a result of an accident. He was born on May 8, 1953 in Sparta to Eugene and Elizabeth (Millard) Konze. He grew up in Cataract and graduated from Sparta High School.

     John spent 10 years working at Fort McCoy and 35 years working at Habelman’s Cranberry Marsh. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mule deer hunting out west in Wyoming, and throwing horse shoes. He loved spending time with family and friends.

     John is survived by his children, Scott Konze of Mindoro, Danny (Katherine) Konze of Cataract and their children, Ella and Madeline, Eric (Shannon Jenkins) Konze of Cataract and their children, Soleil and Braxton Konze, Sean Konze and Megan Konze both of Florida; and many other relatives and friends.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Elizabeth and a brother, Joel Konze.

     A Celebration of John’s Life will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 12, at the Cataract Sportsmen’s Club. 

     The Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta, is assisting the family with arrangements.
