Obituary
John H. Revels Sr., 93, of Sparta, died Friday, March 31, 2023 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse. He was born on December 29, 1929 in Vernon County, WI to Ellsworth and Emma (Crown) Revels.
John married Annette Nelson on June 28, 1958.
John is survived by his wife, Annette; children, John Jr., Joan, Jerry, Jeffrey, and Jennifer; 16 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Betty; sister-in-law, Rose; 8 sisters-in-law
and 6 brothers-in-law; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Rod Brookman; brothers, Roland, Bill, LeRoy, Sam, Bob, Carl, and Don; and sister, Clara.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Sparta, with Father Eric Berns officiating. Military honors provided by VFW Post 2112 and American Legion Post 100 will follow in front of the church. Burial will be at a later time in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Sparta.
Family and friends are invited for visitation from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Online condolences may be offered at www.schanhoferfh.com
