Joyce A Weinke

Joyce A. (Rapp) Weinke, 77, of Sparta, WI, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.

Joyce was born on December 12, 1947, to Robert and Angeline (Mlsna) Rapp in Sparta, where she was raised and later graduated from Sparta High School. She continued her education at Winona College, studying bookkeeping, before beginning her career with the Monroe County Nursing Service and later with CenturyTel, working in Sparta, Tomah, and La Crosse.

In 1966, Joyce met Douglas Weinke at St. John’s Summit Church, and the two were married there on April 27, 1968. Together, they built a life filled with love and family, adopting and raising two sons, Mikal and Roger.

Joyce found joy in gardening, art, and quilting, but her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She cherished every moment with them and took pride in watching them grow.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Douglas; her sons, Mikal (Cindy) Weinke and Roger Weinke; her grandchildren, Brittney and Jeremy Weinke, and Carley Owens; and her great-grandchildren, Nyomi, Anjelina, Emma and Luci. She is also survived by many other relatives and dear friends.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; and her grandson, Colton.

Services will be announced at a later date.
