Judith “Judy” A. Johnson, 85, of Sparta, died Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Morrow Memorial Home, Sparta. She was born September 20, 1940 in Eau Claire, WI to Jacob and Mildred (Ruff) Zais. She grew up in Eau Claire, WI. Judy graduated from Eau Claire Memorial in 1958.
Judy married Roger Johnson July 7, 1962 and had one daughter, Jayme.
Judy worked as a CNA at St. Mary’s Hospital in Sparta and then retired from the Tomah VA. Judy loved her adventures on the golf course but the Monday night bowling adventures were her favorite. She was an avid Packers and Brewers fan. She loved spending time with her family most of all.
Judy is survived by her husband, Roger Johnson of Sparta; daughter, Jayme of Sparta; step son, Kevin (Roberta) Johnson of Sparta; step daughter, Dawn Johnson of Racine; brother, Ron (Emily) Zais of Fort Collins, Colorado; sister, Dorothy Fotland of Eau Claire; grandchildren, Trent Johnson, Reannon Nailor, Kylee Brooks, Jeremy Druktenis, and Aaron Druktenis; and many nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Mildred; brothers and sisters-in law, Ron Cronin, Lee and Annette Rickert, Dennis Johnson, Irene Johnson, and Bruce Johnson.
A celebration of Judy’s life, with a luncheon, will be held from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at American Legion Post 100, Sparta. Online condolences may be offered at www.schanhoferfh.com
