Justin M. Flock, 44, of Sparta, passed away unexpectedly doing what he loved, hunting with his son, Mavrick, on Saturday, January 10, 2026. He grew up in Sparta, and graduated from Sparta High School in 2000.
In addition to working on his family farm, Waterway Farms, he worked for Wagner Farms and also worked as a diesel mechanic.
Justin married Kimberly M. Peterson on October 16, 2010 at Fish Creek Ridge Lutheran Church, Rockland. He enjoyed trap shooting, hunting, and tractor pulls. Justin could fix anything with a YouTube video.
Justin is survived by his wife, Kimberly; son, Mavrick; parents, Kim and Tom Waters; sisters, Jessica (David) Thurston and Masey (Josh Klein) Waters, brother, Adam Waters; maternal grandmother, Jackie Flock; father and mother-in-law, Bruce and Vicki Peterson; sister-in-law, Danielle Peterson; brother-in-law, Scott (Megan) Peterson; nieces and nephews Hunter, Blake, Ellisyn, and Hailey; as well as many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Wayne Flock; and paternal grandparents, William and Marlene Waters.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, January 19, 2026 at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation, Sparta, with Pastor Amanda Schultz-Garcia officiating. Private family burial will be held at a later time in Fish Creek Ridge Cemetery, Rockland.
A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Monday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences may be offered at www.schanhoferfh.com
A Celebration of Justin’s life will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Club 16.
