Karen J. Griffin

Karen J. Griffin, 79, formerly of Sparta, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024 at her daughter’s home, surrounded by family. She was born on March 26, 1945 to Leo and Eleanor (Roberts) Suomi, in Sparta. She grew up in Big Creek and graduated from Sparta High School.

Karen married Lester Griffin. They later divorced. Karen was a daycare provider, and raised a family of 5 children. In her free time, she enjoyed crossword puzzles, word searches, and gardening.

She was preceded in death by parents; son, Matthew Boesen; step-father, Clyde Deer; and identical twin sister and best friend, Sandra Loya.

She is survived by her son, Mark (Joyce Brakie) Griffin; daughters, Andrea (Jerry Crocker) Gulias, Stacy Griffin and Amy (Steve) Appel; grandchildren, Christina Cox, Nathan Cox, Courtney Parchment, and Owen Gonzalez; great-grandchildren, Carter and Catheryn Cox, Gabriella Geiwitz, Leo Hanson, and Kaysen Parchment; nephew, Andy (Erin) Loya; and niece Joely Loya; as well as many other relatives and friends.

There will be no services at this time.
