On a beautiful sunny day in May, the Lord welcomed into his arms Kathleen Joan Leifermann Haag. She passed away from cancer on May 13, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife , mother of four, and awesome grandmother of eight.
She was born on January 27, 1947 in Hutchinson, Minnesota to Quintin (Pat) N. Leifermann and Virginia (Ginny) L. Zuelke. Her family moved to Wheaton, Illinois where she grew up. She graduated from Wheaton Central High in 1965 and then attended Northern Illinois University. She met her husband of 55 years, Reggie, in West Chicago. They were married in 1966 and moved to Wisconsin to start their family. She worked for the Sparta School District for 30 years.
Kathy enjoyed gardening, church bell choir, her card group, and traveling to visit her children and grandchildren who are sprinkled all over the United States. She loved going back to Chicago and always enjoyed watching her Cubbies at Wrigley. This always put a smile on her face.
She is survived by her husband, Reggie of Sparta; daughters, Victoria (Thomas) Rowe of Cincinnati, OH and Terese (Kurt) Erickson of Appleton, WI; sons, Daniel (Aurora) Haag of Dallas, TX and Nathan Haag of Sparta; sister, Judith Horaz of Carterville IL; and 8 grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Quintin and Virginia Leifermann.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12 noon on June 11, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sparta, with Reverend Mark Kvale officiating. A luncheon will follow.
