Kathleen "Kasey" G Hansen

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Kathleen “Kasey” Carr Hansen of Sparta, on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at Rolling Hills, in Sparta, at the age of 81.

Kathleen Genevieve Hansen was born on January 3, 1944 in Sparta, to Norbert and Lillian Carr.

She graduated from Sparta High School. Her working career included Dr. Lawler’s and Dr. Frazee’s dental offices. She spent many years advocating for the senior residents of the Morrow Home Community; where she was the Housing Director before retiring.

She was an enthusiastic card player, spending many fun filled hours playing Bridge. Other interests included bowling, and traveling to spend time with family. For a short time, she shared a salon space in the Sparta Community, to assist with the selection and styling of wigs.

She was always young at heart and that’s how we will always remember her. Her love and energy were felt by everyone that knew her. We will forever be thankful for every moment, big or small, that we shared with her; creating memories that will last a lifetime.

She is survived by her grandson, Vincent Young; and son-in-law, Jim Young, both of Holmen, WI; step-children, Terry Hansen of Grafton, WI, Lori (Dick) Jones of Onalaska, WI, and Jill (Steve) Schroeder of Sparta, WI; along with their children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Hansen; daughter, Colleen (Mohring) Young; and parents, Norbert and Lillian Carr.

A Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation, Sparta, with Chaplain Priscilla Hemmersbach officiating. A luncheon will follow the service at the funeral home.

A Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025 at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation, Sparta; and from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home.

Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, October 6, 2025 at The Catholic Cemetery, La Crosse.
