Kathryn S. Culpitt

Kathryn S. Culpitt, 77, of Sparta passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025 at her home. She was born January 29, 1948 to Bernhard C. and Marie K. (Kotek) Danielson, in Sparta. She grew up in Middle Ridge through first grade; attending Sand Creek Elementary School, then attended Leon Elementary, and Sparta High School, where she was a 1966 graduate.

She married Clinton Culpitt on August 23, 1969 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, in Sparta. 

Kathy started working for Rolling Hills as a senior in high school. After graduation, she worked full time there, until 1976. She became an in-home daycare provider. Over the years, she cared for over 80 children. 

Kathy was an active member of the Sparta Area Cancer Support organization for over 20 years. She provided transportation, was a t-shirt coordinator, and helped out with the annual Cancer Walk. She also volunteered at the local food pantry, Second Harvest and St. Patrick’s PCCW funerals, as well as for rummage sales. 

Kathy enjoyed gardening, knitting afghans, Packer football, Milwaukee Brewer games and spending time with her family.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Clinton; children, Rebecca (Steve) Lee, and Greg (Laura) Culpitt; grandchildren, Damon Olson, Dominic Wachter-Culpitt, Kenady Storandt, Dylan Culpitt, Brady Davis, and Kelton Davis; great-granddaughter, Josette Lasister-Olson; and many other family and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, John, Tom, and Jim Danielson. 

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, with Father Eric Berns officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Sparta, with a luncheon to follow the burial, in the church basement.

A Visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation, Sparta.
