Kathryn Johnson

     Kathryn I. “Boots” (Lounsbrough) Johnson, 79, of Sparta, passed away, Wednesday, January 1, 2020, at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.

     She was born August 16, 1940, in the Town of Burns.  On September 17, 1955, Kathryn married Lyle Johnson in Sparta and they shared over 64 years of marriage.

     Survivors include her husband, Lyle Johnson; daughter, Pamela (Steve) Buckhannon; son, David Johnson (fiancée, Colette Kirkeeng); sister-in-law, Helen (Hugo) Miller; five grandchildren, Joe Shawley, Jamie Johnson, Josh (Marie) Johnson, Tabitha (Mike) Repinski, and Katy Johnson; 16 great-grandchildren; and one nephew, Robert (Jean) Lounsbrough.

     Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Florance Lounsbrough; daughter, Deborah Hayes; son, Lyle D. Johnson; one great-grandchild; sisters, Harriet Stevensen, Mary Hendricks, and Francis Lounsbrough; and brothers, Robert Lounsbrough, and Arthur Lounsbrough.

     A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 9, 2020, at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta. Rev. Mark Kvale will officiate. Burial will be in Burns Cemetery, rural Bangor. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m., until the time of service, Thursday, at the funeral home.
