Kenneth Dean Nemitz, 89, of Black River Falls, died Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Pine View Care Center, in Black River Falls. He was born June 13, 1933, to Bernard and Bertha (Goetzka) Nemitz.
Kenneth grew up in the Knapp area, and graduated from Black River Falls High School. He married Janette Block in 1957. Kenneth took over the family farm, raising dairy cows, and worked until his retirement. He also worked at Black River Falls area schools as a custodian, and for Ho-Chunk Casino. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, a trapper in his younger years, wood working, loved to make bird houses, and enjoyed collecting photos of local history and family. He also enjoyed spending time with family, and especially his grandchildren.
Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Lisa Quackenbush; brother, Gary Nemitz; grandchildren, Zachary Quackenbush, Lucas Quackenbush, Mackenzie Quackenbush (special friend Nayeli Ledesma-Lemus), Jenna Quackenbush, and Jamal Opara; son-in-laws, Bill Quackenbush and Ify Opara; sister-in-laws, Marilou Nemitz and Bev Nemitz; cousin, Betty Schilhabel, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Janette; daughter, Cindy Nemitz Opara; brothers, Virgil Nemitz, Gerald Nemitz, Harald Nemitz, Ronald Nemitz, and Junior Nemitz; sisters, Florence Kent, Agnes Harelson, and Jane Seflow; brother-in-laws, William Kent, Gilbert Seflow, and Arnold Harelson; sister-in-laws, Alice Nemitz, Dorothy Nemitz, Carol Nemitz, and Delores Nemitz.
Burial will be at a later date in Knapp Cemetery, Warrens, WI.
