Kevin B. Campbell

Kevin B. Campbell Sr., 68, of Sparta, died Sunday, May 25, 2025 at his home. He was born on August 14, 1956 to Wilbur and Lois (Brinkman) Campbell in La Crosse. He was the youngest of 5 children, and was raised in La Crosse, as a “Northsider! Forever”.

Kevin married Barb Markos. They had one child together, Kevin Brian Campbell II. They later divorced. He met Barb Burkhardt in 1991, on French Island. They were married in 1992.

Kevin was proud to be a Logan Ranger, and a part of their football team, in 1972 and 1973, that was undefeated; and ranked 2nd in State. He was also nominated Prom King.

Later in life, Kevin was captain of the fire department.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Barb; son, Kevin (Teresa) Campbell Jr.; step-son, Ben (Kalista) Burkhardt; sister, Jeanine; brothers, Larry and Allen; grandson, Kevin B. Campbell III; granddaughter, Lydia Campbell; and step-grandsons, Jaydon, Brenon, and Landon

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Steve.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at The Venue, 211 N. Black River St., Sparta.
