A very special mother and grandmother, LaViolet Knoll, 95, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Morrow Memorial Home.
LaViolet’s first outing as a baby was to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Barre Mills for her baptism. LaViolet lead a very Christian life. She was confirmed in 1939 at the same church.
On August 21, LaViolet married Herman Knoll and they farmed in Big Creek. To this union, 3 children were born: Dennis, Janice and Allen. Later in life, they divorced. LaViolet then moved to town with her children and lived on South Water St. with her brother Donald.
In 1965, LaViolet went to work at Spartek where she worked for 25 years. In 1982 she found her partner Leo Paden and they spent over 25 years having a great time together and BINGO was their game.
LaViolet is survived by her children all residing in Sparta: Dennis (Mary) Knoll, Janice (Gary) Baumbach and Allen Knoll. She is also survived by her grandchildren Brian (Sandy) Knoll of Wausau, Brad (RyAnn) Knoll of Sparta, Christy (Craig) Goelz of Washington, OK, Kathy (Paul) Zimmerman of Sparta, Kevin (Beth) Baumbach of Eau Claire, Jennifer (Bud) Berendes of Sparta and Kati (Ben) Rhyner of Madison and step-granddaughter Jessica (BJ) Britzman. She is further survived by 15 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren.
LaViolet is survived by Leo’s children Paul, Phyllis (George) Staidl, Helen (Hugo) Miller Lounsbrough, Mary (Harlan) Casavan and their children and grandchildren.
Preceding LaViolet in death are her parents Albion and Sarah (Tauscher) Schams, brothers Walter (Mildred) and Donald, daughter-in-law Rebecca Knoll, granddaughter Heather Knoll and her very dear friend Leo Paden.
Funeral service to be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church (419 Jefferson Ave, Sparta). Funeral visitation to be held prior, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church. Interment Burns Cemetery.
