Linda L. Vetsch

On the evening of June 9, 2026, heaven received another angel as Linda Louise (Triatek/Davis) Vetsch passed peacefully to join Jesus and many beautiful souls who welcome her home. Linda bravely fought her diagnosis of brain cancer with the support of amazing friends and family. She passed at Morrow Home Community surrounded by the love she generated in this world.

Linda was born on December 20, 1942, to Daniel A. and Myrtle M. (Batzel) Triatek. She graduated from Sparta High School in 1960 and on April 22, 1961, she married her love, Roderick W. Davis. Linda and Rick brought five children into the world and created a beautiful home filled with love in Big Creek, Wisconsin. Linda became a second mom to countless others as the house was frequently filled with friends; she always made a home for anyone who needed a place to gather and family extended far beyond those who were related.

Linda will be remembered for her compassionate and loving nature, her determination to ensure that meals were on the table on time and that anyone was welcome to join. She loved gardening and was a member of the Bangor Garden Club. She taught Sunday School at the Big Creek United Methodist Church; she loved learning and took mini classes, including calligraphy, toll painting, and cake decorating. Her love of cake decorating and incredible talent led her to create wedding, graduation, and birthday cakes, as well as countless other beautiful (and delicious) creations over the next three decades. Linda loved traveling with family and visiting family in South Dakota and Loveland, Colorado. On October 29, 1994, she lost her husband, Rick, very unexpectedly.

On April 5, 1997, Linda began the next chapter in her life and married Duane Vetsch. Together she and Duane were active members of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, where Linda formed many new and wonderful friendships. She was an active member in Christian Women’s Club, she helped organize and serve funeral lunches, and she baked delicious sweets for church gatherings and Sunday morning hospitality. Linda and Duane enjoyed playing cribbage together, having friends and family over for dinner, and gardening. Linda loved to go fishing with Duane and together they enjoyed hours at the cranberry bogs in Tomah. Linda always loved spending time by the water with fishing pole in hand, and fishing with Duane brought great joy to her days.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband Roderick Davis, her parents Daniel A. and Myrtle M. Triatek, and her son Daniel W. Davis. She is survived by her spouse, Duane M. Vetsch, and children Timothy Davis, Teresa Davis (Jamie Schlintz), Michael (Stephanie) Davis, and Christina (Jim) Dippold, grandchildren Michelle (Don) Jenkins, Christopher (Emily) Davis, Tracy (Adam) Perkins, Nicole (Brendan) Pingel, Kaylin Davis, Katrina Gilbertson, Abbey (Joshua) Nevin, Marissa Gilbertson, Noah Davis, Emily Davis, Erma (Sam) Dippold, Elijah Davis, Ernie Dippold, and Ray Dippold, and sixteen great-grandchildren. She will be especially missed by her dearest friends Audrey Helmenstine and Rita Huggett.

The family would like to thank the Morrow Home Community and St. Croix Hospice for the compassionate care they provided in supporting Linda and the family during this difficult transition. Funeral services will be held later this summer.
