Linus Geier Obituary

Linus I. Geier, 60, of Sparta, died Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at home, after a nine year battle with cancer, surrounded by his family. He was born on July 6, 1962 in Sparta, to Bertha (Schafer) and Isidore Geier. He grew up on the family farm in Coles Valley and graduated from Sparta High School.

Linus married Lori Tessman on June 18, 1988. They lived in Sparta. Linus worked on the family farm until it was sold. He then worked for the Monroe County Farm, and then E&B Insulation until he retired in 2019.

Linus enjoyed hunting and fishing. His grandchildren were the loves of his life. He loved spending time with them and was extremely proud of all of their accomplishments.

Linus is survived by his wife, Lori Geier of Sparta; children, Heather (special friend, Chris Stelter) Fox of Sparta, Renae (Jamie) Findlay of Sparta, and Matthew Geier of Sparta; mother, Bertha Geier of Sparta; siblings, Debbie Geier-Delaluz of Tomah, Richard (Colleen) Geier of Sparta, Kathy Geier of Sparta, Mary (Jim) Schwarz of Sparta, Carol (Eugene) Treu of Sparta, David (Sue) Geier of Sparta, and Barb (Ed) Downing of Sparta; grandchildren, Morgan (fiance, Daniel Baker) Stelter of Menomonie, Cammi Stelter of Eau Claire, Dillon Findlay of Sparta, and Devin Helgerson (fiance, Rebekah Price) of Missouri; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Isidore Geier.

A celebration of life will be held from 12 noon until 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2022 on the old family farm in Coles Valley, 15545 County Road A. Online condolences may be offered at www.schanhoferfh.com.
