Lonnie H. Hoard

Lonnie H. Hoard, 75, of Sparta, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Rolling Hills Rehabilitation Center in Sparta. He was born on October 3, 1946, in Minnesota to Harland and Adeline (Drangsveit) Hoard.

Lonnie grew up in Cataract, and graduated from Sparta High School.  He served in the US Army and was stationed in Korea. After returning from the military, he came back to the Cataract area and took over his father’s farm. He was married to Vicky L. Gebhardt on January 28, 1989 in Sparta, and they farmed together, until he retired in 2017, due to health reasons.

He enjoyed spending time with family, and going to the races in West Salem, Tomah, and Wisconsin Dells.

Lonnie is survived by his wife, Vicky of Sparta; daughter, Lisa (Steve) Green of Sparta; step-son, David (Kerri) Lamon of Park Falls; 3 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 5 step grandchildren; sister, Jeanette Hoard of Cross Plains; and brother, Randy Hoard of La Crosse.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harland and Adeline Hoard; and his step-daughter, Teresa Sahr.

There will be no services held at this time. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery.
