Lori Dee Antony, age 59, of Sparta, Wisconsin, peacefully passed away in her sleep at her childhood home on April 30, 2022 following a courageous, four-year battle with cancer.
Lori was born June 4, 1962, to Erling and Alice (Baardseth) Antony Sr. After graduating from Sparta High School in 1980, she received an associate degree in accounting. She worked at G. Heileman Brewing Company. Later, Lori worked for and retired from the Business Office of the School District of La Crosse. Throughout her life, she enjoyed playing golf, softball, racquetball, and volleyball. She traveled to many locations throughout five of the continents. These included Russia, China, Morocco, Cuba, and numerous European, South and Central American countries. She particularly loved traveling with siblings, nieces, nephews and friends. When Lori was around, no one was a stranger for long. She talked to anyone and everyone and usually had them laughing within a few minutes. She enjoyed baking, including special treats for her nieces, nephews and their children. She often gathered with family and friends to play cards and other games.
Lori is survived by her siblings: Steven “TT” Antony; Erling (Patricia) Antony Jr.; Margaret Ball; Jeffrey Antony; Roger Antony; and Jenny (Michael) Haun. Nieces and nephews: Keith Ball; Douglas (Erika) Ball; Theresa (Jacob) Nyberg; Eric (Lauren) Haun; Kathleen (Chris Pruet) Antony; Erling (Kathy O’Toole) Antony III; and James (Kelly Bennion) Antony. Grand nieces and nephews: Landon, Logan and Liam Ball; Addison and Miles Nyberg; Tatum and Canton Haun; and Tara, Linus and Cecil Pruet.
Lori was preceded in death by her parents.
A celebration of Lori’s life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 7th at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation, Sparta. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Sparta Area Cancer Society (SACS) or Wisconsin Registry for Alzheimer’s Prevention (WRAP). Online condolences may be offered at schanhoferfh.com
