Lucinda “Cindy” E. (Holmstrom) Schudar, 79, of Sparta, WI, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in La Crosse.
Cindy was born on June 16, 1945, to Oscar and Anna (Jacobson) Holmstrom. She was raised in Gwinner, ND.
On May 8, 1965, she married her beloved husband, Alexander Schudar. The couple moved to Wisconsin in 1972, where Cindy started her role as a homemaker raising their children Kory, Pam, Lisa and Marty. She later worked as a bookkeeper for their business, Schudar Trucking. Cindy also enjoyed bartending at the Millpond Tavern, a local bar owned by Bill and Melba Burris in Cataract, WI. A natural caregiver, Cindy was always there for her family and friends when they needed help.
For nearly 20 years, Cindy and Alex worked together as a team driving semi-truck over the road, until Al’s passing in 2002. She kept her CDL after his death and worked for C&J Trucking, delivering van trucks across the country for several years.
Cindy was an avid traveler, having visited 49 of the 50 U.S. states. She found joy in bringing people together, often over coffee, meals, and friendly games.
Cindy is survived by her daughters, Korrin (Randy) Jotham and their children, Dylan, Devin, and Shristi Jotham; Pamela (William) Svec and their children, Katrina, Carl, and Steven Svec; and Lisa (Robert) Daily and their children, Anthony “Tony” (Rachel) Wyatt and their daughter, Kodiak, Haley Wyatt, Christopher Daily, Sabrina Daily, Dustin (Samantha) Daily and their children, Linkin and Rosalia Daily. Martin Schudar’s children Alex and Hannah Schudar.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Alexander V. Schudar; son, Martin A. Schudar; granddaughter, Catlin M. Wyatt; her parents; siblings and several other family members.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2025, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sparta, WI, with Father Eric Berns officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.
A Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the church. Friends and family may offer online condolences at www.schanhoferfh.com.
