Marcella J. Clemmerson, 92, of Sparta, died December 17, 2022, at Rolling Hills Nursing Home. She was born May 15, 1930, in Sparta, to Clarence and Emma (Mosley) Clemmerson. She grew up in the Cataract area and attended Cataract Schools.
Marcella enjoyed cooking and baking. She was head cook for the Sparta High School for 35 years. Christmas was her favorite time of the year. She was foster mother to many children, and was a mother figure to Wayne Clemmerson, Jeanette, and Eugene Johnson. She became good friends with her step-mother Irene Clemmerson.
Marcella is survived by her brother, Roger Clemmerson; nephew, Andy Stahl; great nephew, Joshua (Luci) Stahl; great nieces, Alexis Stahl, Kayla Stahl, Allie Stahl, Brooklyn Stahl, and Samantha Stahl; great-great niece, Everleigh Rogers, and many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Velda May Clemmerson and Nancy Clemmerson; step mother Irene Clemmerson, and many relatives.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at New Life Assembly of God Church, in Sparta, with Pastor Randy Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Union Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Monday at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation, Sparta, and on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at New Life Assembly of God Church.
