Marian J. Tremblay

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Marian Joyce Tremblay (nee Cohoon), on July 3, 2025, at the age of 73.

Marian was born August 8, 1951, in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, to Raymond and Catherine Cohoon. She was the youngest of seven children and was known throughout her life for her compassion, quiet strength, and generous heart - always putting others before herself.

Marian married James (Jim) Tremblay on April 22, 1978, at Notre Dame Church in Chippewa Falls. After marriage they settled into their first home together – lovingly transforming what was once known as “the ugly green house on the corner” into a warm and beautiful place filled with memories of family and friends.

In 1990, they moved to Sparta, Wisconsin, when Jim took a job at Camp Douglas to continue his career. Marian worked various jobs over the years, but her favorite was her final role before retirement – as a receptionist at the Morrow Home in Sparta. She found great joy in this work, especially in connecting to the residents. Her gentle presence and warm smile left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Marian and Jim were always ready to help others. Whether someone needed a warm meal, a place to rest, or simply a kind word, Marian welcomed them with open arms. Her home was a place of comfort and care – a true reflection of her heart.

Marian is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Jim (James) Tremblay; her daughter, Melissa (Tony) Deters; and her beloved grandchildren, Hadley and Sawyer, who were the light of her life. She also leaves behind her sister Nancy and many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember her warmth, kindness, and loving spirit.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Catherine Cohoon; and her siblings, Jerome (Jerry), Raymond (Raymie), Janette, Katherine (Kitty) and LaVonne (Bonnie).

Though she is no longer with us, the love she gave us and the kindness she shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation in Sparta, with a luncheon to follow. All who knew and loved Marian are welcome to attend and celebrate her life.
