Mary Ann Russell Prado, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2024, at the age of 85.
Mary was born on September 17, 1938, in Lacrosse, Wisconsin, to Howard and Evangeline Russell. She was the only daughter. Having four brothers Howard (Spike), Doug, Tom, and David (Auggie)
Mary's early years were marked by the adventurous lifestyle of an army family, moving frequently until her father's posting at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. She pursued her education with dedication and graduated from Monmouth University, where she laid the foundation for a life devoted to caring for others.
She was an amazing mother to Remi, David, Jill, and Mary Jr. While Mary physically had four children, she embraced countless others as her own, earning her the affectionate nickname "Mabel" from those whose lives she touched.
Mary's home was a beacon of warmth and hospitality; her door was always open to family, friends, and strangers alike. She radiated kindness, generosity, and compassion, leaving an indelible mark on all who crossed her path.
In addition to her role as a devoted mother, Mary cherished her role as a grandmother to Anmarie, Payton, Camryn, Aric, Blake, Nicholas, Chase, Gabriella, and Aiden. Who brought her immeasurable joy and pride
Mary will be remembered for her unwavering love, her gentle spirit, and her boundless capacity for kindness. Her legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Mary Ann Russell Prado's memory will be cherished by her children, grandchildren, extended family, and numerous friends.
A celebration of Mary's life will be held at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 740 S. Edmonds Lane, Lewisville TX 75067, on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 3 pm.
She will have a second service at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation, 106 West Franklin Street, Sparta, WI on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 11 am. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Sparta. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to https://alzfdn.org/donate/ in Mary's honor.
