Mary "Lisa" E. Slonka

Mary “Lisa” E. Slonka, 67, of Sparta, died February 27, 2022 from a traffic accident. She was born on March 20, 1954 to Anthony and Margaret (Berg) Zimmerhakl.

Lisa graduated from La Crosse Central High School in 1972. She married her high school sweetheart, Timothy Slonka on June 28, 1973.  

Lisa loved their hobby farm. They raised cattle, horses, dogs, and cats through the years on their farm. They also enjoyed years of NASCAR racing. She worked at Empire Screen Printing in Onalaska, she leaves behind many friends and co-workers.

Lisa is survived her husband, Tim of Sparta; brothers, David Zimmerhakl of St. Paul, MN and Stefan Zimmerhakl of Joplin, MO; sisters-in-law, Mary Jo Zimmerhakl of St. Francis MN and Susan Blenka of Albert Lea, MN, brothers-in-law, Alan Blenka, Albert Lea, MN, Michael Kopski of La Crosse, WI; nieces, Heather Wright of St. Paul, MN, Stephanie Cassidy of Springfield, MO, Angela Miller of Pompano Beach, FL, Nicole Kuechenmeister of MN, Amanda Saugen of Rochester, MN, Alison Froisland of Minneapolis, MN, and Jennifer Hibbard of Fridley, MN; nephews, Scott Zimmerhakl of Joplin, MO and Lee Zimmerhakl of St. Francis, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Don Zimmerhakl; sisters-in-law, Nancy Kopski and Margaret Germanson; and niece, Kristine Bohrer.
