Mary Marcelle (Niggli) Bushek was born in Crookston, MN on July 17, 1947. She passed away at her home of nearly 40 years in Parchment, MI on April 9th, 2025. Mary was the daughter of Albert Niggli, Jr. and Stella (Tracy) Mehren.
Mary graduated from Logan High School in 1965, then spent time studying at University of Wisconsin–La Crosse. On July 10th, 1971, she was united in marriage to Paul R. Bushek.
She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Robert Mehren, her beloved sister Christine (Niggli) Ruffolo; brother Patrick Mehren and her in-laws, Mina and Clarence Bushek.

Mary was a beloved wife, mother and friend. She loved animals and nature. One of her favorite activities was feeding and watching the wildlife in their backyard. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family, going back to Wisconsin to visit with them often. She had a quick wit and was known for shooting off great one-liners.
Mary was active in the Parchment School district, creating “Book Nook”, an opportunity for elementary aged children to read and purchase books each Friday in their school library. She was also active in the PTA. She was a wonderful example of generosity and compassion for those less fortunate, supporting programs such as “Coat for Kids”, community centers, homeless shelters and local food pantries in the Kalamazoo area.
