Michael A. Chitek

Michael A. Chitek, 72, of Sparta, died on Friday, December 31, 2021 at the Morrow Home in Sparta, WI. He was born on January 18, 1949 to Joseph and Helen (Lentz) Chitek in Baraboo, WI and was raised in Sauk City, WI.

Michael retired from Spartek after 30 years of work.

Michael is survived by his daughter Darsta Chitek; grandchildren McKinzie Knoll, Marion Ramirez, Monte Ramirez, Mekhi Ramirez and Maxin Chitek; his siblings Kathleen (Gary) Lutz and Joanne (Roy Martinez) Patino; nieces Patti Klunder, Angela Schulenberg, Linda Romero and Bonnie Walton; nephews Brian Strang, Tom Patino, Steve Stoffels and Phillip Stoffels. Special thanks to Steve Gordon, Connie Cox, Sid Slominski and their spouses for their care throughout this time.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life Rose Livangood, his siblings Lawrence, Joyce, Robert and William.

Funeral visitation to be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation, Sparta. Graveside service to be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at St. Aloysius Cemetery (1200 Leuders Rd) in Sauk City, WI.
