Mike Knutson, born in July 1966, passed away on May 18th, 2024, with his beloved cat, Ruxon by his side. Although Mike had no known living relatives, his life was rich in character and meaningful connections.
A long-time employee of Markos Apparel, Mike was known for his thoughtfulness, vast knowledge, cautious optimism, and unwavering friendship. He was a person who
consistently put others first, often giving away what little he had to help someone in need. His life wasn't abundant in material wealth, but it was abundant in compassion and generosity.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once asked, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is, what are you doing for others?" Mike lived this question daily. His words of compassion and empathy brought comfort to customers who were struggling or down on their luck. He had a unique sense of humanity that was evident in every interaction, making a significant impact on those around him.
Mike will be deeply missed by many who were touched by his kind words and gentle, caring nature. Reflecting on Mike's life, Dick Markos quoted Khalil Gibran: "You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give." In a world that often seems indifferent and disconnected, Mike's presence brought comfort and caring to many. His memory will be eternal.
If you would like to contribute to Mike's burial expenses, please contact Markos Apparel, 608-784-8224 or 507-313-8431. It would be greatly appreciated.
