Michael D. La Force

Michael Douglas LaForce, 71, of Sparta, Wisconsin, passed away on the morning of December 12, 2025 at Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Black River Falls, WI.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Michael spent his life working in a variety of jobs, including roofing and carpentry. He took pride in his work and was always well spoken of by co-workers.

Michael was well liked by those around him. He had a natural sense of humor, a kind streak that showed up in small ways, and a personality people gravitated toward. He had a special love for animals—especially cats—who were a constant source of comfort to him throughout his life.

Among the things he cared about most were his two sons, Steve and Chris, of whom he was immensely proud. He also remained close with his brother Don, maintaining a strong bond that lasted his entire life.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Charlotte and Roy LaForce, and his sister, Catherine.

He is survived by his sons, Steve (Thalia) and Chris (Melinda) LaForce; his brother, Don LaForce; his grandchildren—Remington, Serenity, Beckett, Patience, Caitlyn, Camryn, Jocelyn, and Abel; and his beloved cat, Magi.

Michael will be remembered with affection for the kindness, warmth, and laughter he brought into the lives of family and friends. He will be deeply missed.
