Michael G. Walters

Michael G. Walters, 76, of Bangor, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at his home, surrounded by family. He was born January 4, 1947 to Harris and Virginia Walters, in Wausau.

Michael married Vicki Sparks on August 18, 1973. They had three daughters. Mike served in the United States Marine Corp. then graduated from UW-L with a teaching degree. He taught in Blair, Fennimore, Wisconsin Rapids, and Muscoda. He also owned and operated a group home for foster children in Bangor.

In his retirement, he was a “picker”, and loved to go to rummage sales.

Michael is survived by his wife, Vicki (Sparks) Walters, of Bangor; daughters, Jennifer (Bob) Kvistad of Greenwood, Marcie (Chad) Walters, of Bangor, and DeeAnn (Jared) Kovalik of Virginia; grandchildren, Devin and Paula (Stan) Kvistad, Dawson (Ashley) Walters, Jolie and Julianna Kovalik; great-grandchildren, Braxton, Jaxson, and Taylynn.
