It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Michelle Anne Reed, age 41, on January 25, 2026, at her home.
Born on January 7, 1985, Michelle lived life exactly the way she wanted to—to the fullest. She was truly the life of the party, a social butterfly with a contagious laugh that could turn any gathering into a memory. Once you heard her laugh, you couldn’t help but laugh too.
She graduated from Bangor High School in 2003 and went on to study Business and Marketing at UW–Platteville and UW–Richland Center. She worked as a Clinical Support Coordinator for LHI, where her warmth, humor, and dedication made a lasting impression.
An avid Dallas Cowboys fan, Michelle loved fishing, camping, watching football, going to Brewers and Badgers games, cooking and grilling, playing pull tabs, bean bag, beer pong, and tippy cup, and spending time at the cabin on fishing trips. She loved attending Butterfest and enjoyed going to concerts with Myrt and having her sleepovers with Carter. She loved being an aunt. She especially cherished her annual family trips to the Dells. Whether it was casinos, card games, or just being surrounded by people she loved, she was always all in.
She was a proud cat lover and adored her cats, Bootsie and Simon, who were never far from her heart.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Richard & Dorothy Walters, Forrest Reed and Norma Brewer, and by her aunts Steph Rostkowski, Shirley Bradbery, her uncles Steve Walters, Randy Reed, and Mark Reed.
She is survived by her parents Harold Reed and Sheryl Brooks. Her sisters Melissa Walters, and her twin Marsha Bertram, her brothers James Reed, Jeremy Reed (Lisa) her aunts Stacy Green and Nancy Peterson; her uncle Ralph Rostkowski; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Congregational United Church of Christ, Sparta, with Priscilla Hemmersbach officiating. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date, when family and friends can gather again to share stories, laughter, and memories—just as she would have wanted.
Family and friends are invited for visitation from 12 noon until 2 p.m. on Saturday at the church. Online condolences may be offered at www.schanhoferfh.com
Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation, Sparta, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Though her time here was far too short, her laughter, love, and light will live on in everyone who knew her.
