Pamela Jean (Johnson) Mannel, age 73, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on November 6th, 2021. She was born in Sparta, WI to Forest and Normalee (Stott) Johnson on July 2nd, 1948.
Pam was raised in Cataract, WI attending Sparta Schools. Pam married Douglas Mannel on June 13th, 1975. They resided in Sparta where they raised their family. Pam always made room in their home and life for anyone and everyone that needed a little extra love. There are a number of individuals who thought of Pam as a second mother or grandmother. A title she welcomed with open arms.
In 1998, Pam and Doug left the city life and found their forever home in Jenkins Valley, just south of Cataract. Married for 46 years, they enjoyed hunting, camping, tending flower beds and watching the birds and wildlife. Their home also hosted many family gatherings where all were welcome. Pam was selfless and caring and as such found employment in the medical field as an EMT and CNA. She formed many lifelong friendships during this time.
Pam was also an avid volunteer throughout the community at local hospitals and nursing homes. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting making baptismal gowns and blankets for many family members and friends.
Pam is survived by her husband, three sons, Chad (Keri) Schauf, Brian (Katie) Schauf, Jay (Trisha) Mannel; a daughter, Kristeen Mannel-Berendes; five grandsons, Tanner and Cooper Schauf, Parker and Dakota Mannel, and Jack Berendes; seven granddaughters; Jackie, Harley, Maddison and Jaiden Schauf; Mackenze Schauf-Benter and Kaycee Schauf; and Mya Berendes; and one great-grandson, Denver Schauf.
She is further survived by her step-mother, Joyce Johnson; three brothers, Morris (Fanny) Kremmer, Forest "Ever" Johnson and Mike (Charlotte) Peters; four sisters, Shirley Kremmer (Tim Heuer), Lynne (Ron) Muraski, Kyle (Dick) Deno and Suzanne (Mike) Ziebell; three brother-in-laws, Richard Mannel, David (Mei) Mannel, and Lynn Sanders; daughter-in-law, Sara Schauf; and many nieces and nephews.
