Patricia M. Pursell

Patricia M. Pursell, 77, of Sparta, died Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Mayo Clinic Health Care, Sparta. She was born on January 28, 1946, to Gaylord and Dorothy (Helt) Turnipseed, and grew up in Richland Center.

Patricia graduated from Richland Center High School. She married Charles Allbaugh Sr. in 1964, while he was in the service. They later divorced. Patricia married Larry Pursell in 1975.  They lived in South Western Wisconsin before finally settling in Wilton. Patricia worked as a bookkeeper at Fort McCoy until her retirement in 2005.

Patricia enjoyed gardening and reading.  She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Patricia is survived by her 4 children, each of whom she called her favorite depending on who she was talking to at that moment, Charles Allbaugh Jr. of Palmyra, VA, Julie (Randy) Meinen of Rice Lake, Jennifer (Don) Pursell of Sparta, and Jason Pursell of Norwalk; 19 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Betty (Gary) Henning of Ithaca, and Donna Jean Toney of Richland Center; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gaylord and Dorothy Turnipseed; husband, Larry Pursell; ex-husband, Charles Allbaugh Sr.; son, Michael Allbaugh; and sister, Karen Snee.

A celebration of life will be held from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at The Zone in Sparta. Online condolences may be offered at ww.schanhoferfh.com In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Association or Morrow Memorial Home for the Aged.
