Patricia “Pat” L. Miller, 95, of Sparta, died Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Rolling Hills Rehabilitation Center, Sparta. She was born on July 1, 1928 to George and Marie (Lawrence) Wiedl in Sparta. She grew up in Norwalk on their family farm.
Patricia married Leonard J. Miller on November 12, 1949 at St. John the Baptist, Summit Ridge. Together, they farmed in Cataract, Sparta, and Leon. In 1965, they sold the farm and moved to Sparta.
Patricia worked at Northern Engraving starting in 1964. She retired after 30 years. She also worked as a cook at Club 16, and volunteered at Rolling Hills for their Bingo events.
Patricia enjoyed playing cards, embroidery in her early years, and playing Bingo at the Barney Center in Sparta. She loved cheering on the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, and going to her grandkids sporting events.
Patricia is survived by her children, James Miller and Gary (Kathy) Miller of Sparta; grandchildren, Jamie (Chad) Bjerke of St. Charles, MN, Jason Miller of Tomah, Jeremy (special friend, Jackie Olson) Miller of Rockland, Andrew (Amber) Miller of Wisconsin Rapids, Anthony (Kalisha Riser-Anseimo) Miller of Winthrop, MN, Nicole (special friend, Josh Netcott) Tsilis of Rochester, MN, Andrea (James) Harris of Union, SC, and Lloyd Tsilis of Melrose; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Wiedl of Norwalk; brother, Dick (Louise) Weidl of Onalaska; in-laws, Levi (Norma) Miller of Cashton, Darlene Kniefl of St. Joseph’s Ridge, and Marie Wiedl of Norwalk.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Marie; husband Leonard in 2005; daughter-in-law, Deborah Miller; brothers, Tony Wiedl and Fritz Wiedl; sisters, Mildred Wiedl and Carol Heller.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 7, 2023 at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation, Sparta, with Monsignor David Kunz officiating. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Sparta.
