Phyllis E. Aney

Phyllis E. Aney, 90, of Sparta, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026. She was born on March 16, 1936 to Erwin and Thelma Brey, in Ontario, WI. She was raised in Cannon Valley, and attended Sparta High School.

Phyllis married Duane Aney on July 18, 1953. She worked at Sparta Floral for many years, and enjoyed her time there. She then worked at Rolling Hills for over 20 years, as a CNA.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Rodney (Sue) Aney, and Steven (Cindy) Aney; grandchildren, Tammy (Eric) Stickney, Jason Aney, and Wendy (Scott) Peterson; great-grandchildren, Tyren Lincoln, Ashton Lincoln, and Sierra (Tyson) Burruss; and great-great-grandchild, Henry “Hank” Burruss.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane; brother, Larry Brey; son, Robin Aney; and granddaughter, Ashley Aney.

The family would like to thank River Road Estates Assisted Living, for the wonderful care and compassion they showed our mother the last few months of her life.

A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, June 22, 2026 at Woodlawn Cemetery, with Reverend Lourdes Magalhaes officiating. Online condolences may be offered at www.schanhoferfh.com
