Ralph R. Jandt

Ralph R. Jandt, 79, of Cataract, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Monday, November 16, 2020, after battling cancer for a year and a half. He was born on July 26, 1941, to Raymond and Geraldine (Zillmer) Jandt, in Sparta.

Ralph grew up in the Sparta area and graduated from Sparta High School with the class of 1959. He married Karin Anderson on August 26, 1961, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Cataract. Ralph worked at Northern Engraving for over 43 years until his retirement. After retirement, he worked in the fall for Habelman Brothers Co.

Ralph was an avid outdoorsman: he liked to go to Canada fishing with his family, pheasant hunting in South Dakota and gardening. He loved doing crafts with his wife and spending time with his grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

He is survived by his #1 fishing partner of over 59 years, Karin, of Cataract; two children, Bryan (Julie) Jandt and Debra (Pete) Foss, both of Sparta; his four grandchildren, Matthew (Ashley) Foss, Sparta, Jordan (Kaylee) Jandt, of Sparta, Kelsey (Tyler) Remus, of Sparta, and Jade Jandt (Kyle Fosshage), of Dodgeville; a great-granddaughter, Oaklynn Foss; two brothers, Roger Jandt (Hedy Waite) and Ronald (Lorene) Jandt; his special grand dogs and cats; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Geraldine; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Jandt.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Cataract First Responders, Sparta Ambulance, and the entire staff at Gundersen for the outstanding care provided to Ralph.
