Rebecca Green Obituary

Rebecca Lynn Green, 42, of Sparta, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025, with her family by her side, after a courageous 21-year battle with brain cancer.

Becky was a loving wife, mother, and daughter who exemplified strength, resilience, and unwavering faith. Despite the challenges of her illness, she embraced life fully and inspired everyone around her with her determination and spirit. With the unwavering love and support of her devoted husband, Eric, Becky led an active and independent life. She maintained her home, drove, shopped, and raised her beloved son, Noah, with the care and dedication of any mother, never letting her circumstances define her.

Known for her warm sense of humor and kind heart, Becky had a unique ability to see the good in everyone she met. Her laughter was infectious, and her love for her family was boundless. She was a source of strength and encouragement, always quick to offer a kind word or a listening ear.

Becky’s faith as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses was the cornerstone of her life. She cherished the promises found in the Holy Scriptures, especially Revelation 21:3-4, which gave her hope in a future world free from pain and suffering. Until that day, she made the most of every moment, finding joy and purpose in her circumstances.

Becky leaves behind her husband, Eric Green; her son, Noah Rueckheim; her mother and father, Andrea and Kenneth Clark; paternal grandmother, Oral Young; maternal grandfather, Fred Nevsimal; sisters, Tina (Benjamin) Walkey, Ashley (Nick) Hinshaw, and Skyanne; brother Jayde; nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles; step-mother; step-brothers; step-sister; and countless extended family members and friends who loved her dearly; and special friends, Dave and Jessica Tripp. Her life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and perseverance, and her legacy will continue to inspire all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Larry Young; grandmother, Ruby Nevsimal; grandfather, Melvin Young; father-in-law, Rolland Green; mother-in-law, Rita Green; and brothers-in-law, Steven and Michael Green.

Becky will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who loved her.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Mayo Clinic Hospice Care Team for their support.
