Reenie Evans

     Noreen “Reenie” Evans, 65, of Sparta, passed away after her two year battle with cancer, Sunday, September 13, 2020, at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse.

     She was born September 14, 1954, to Carroll “Red” and Donamae (Schams) Schlaver. She was a graduate of Bangor High School. On January 13, 1973, Reenie married Joe Evans in Bangor. She was a very hard worker who was employed at various businesses around the Sparta area including being a server and bartender at Jake’s Northwoods and Club Oasis, and a daycare provider at Fort McCoy for 25 years. Reenie was a people person. After meeting her, you were her friend. She enjoyed photography, gardening, and being a collector of all things. Above all family was most important to Reenie; especially, time spent with her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

     Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Joe; her daughter, Molly Evans; grandchildren, Jayvon Adair and Julian Adair; three siblings, Mary (Jonny) Erickson, Keith Schlaver, and Joanne Vandyke; Joe’s loving family; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

     Reenie was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jeremy Evans; and her grandson, Corey Bronner.

     Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 19, 2020, at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta. Rev. Robbie Nowicki will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m., until 8:00 p.m., Friday, and from 12 noon until the time of service, Saturday, both at the funeral home.
