Richard N. Johnson

Richard N. Johnson, 80, of Sparta, died Thursday, June 29, 2023 at his home. He was born in Sparta to Nelson and Louise (Peters) Johnson. He attended Sparta Schools.

Richard married Geraldine Mahan. She later passed away.

Richard was a painter and traveled all over the United States. He worked at Ft McCoy in Roads and Grounds and retired from there. He enjoyed playing the Wisconsin Lottery Powerball.

Richard is survived by his sons, Rodrick of Sparta and Kevin of Iowa; daughters, Connie Jo of Colorado and Kimberly of California; siblings, Darlene Clemmerson of Sparta, Sandy Peck of Rhinelander, Laura (Tom) Brown of Rockford, IL, and Vicki (H.A.) Moore of Immigrant, MT; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Geraldine; and siblings, Mary Krueger, Debra Krueger, Randy Johnson, and Rodney Johnson.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2024 in Cataract Cemetery, with Reverend Roberta Nowicki officiating.
