Sandra "Sandie" L. Wegner

Sandra “Sandie” L. Wegner, 78, of Sparta, died on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at Gundersen Health Systems, La Crosse. She was born on March 15, 1944 in Sparta to Newell and Leone (Steinke) Goff. She grew up in Sparta and graduated from Sparta High School.

Sandra married Dean Wegner on December 2, 1962 at Congregational United Church of Christ in Sparta. She was a homemaker and worked as a jailer for Monroe County. In her spare time, she enjoyed cross stitching, and baking.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Dean of Sparta; son, Mike (Brenda) Wegner of Sparta; grandchildren, Derek (Mindy) Wegner and their children, JD, Cora and Adri of Sparta, Beckie (Casey) Austin and their children, Raylea, Tate, and Evan of Cashton, RyAnne (Mathew) Inglett and their children, Matallyn and Brenyagen of Cataract, Nick (Emily) Wolf of Sparta, Natasha Neubauer of Cashton, and Theran Wolf of Cataract; siblings, Dawn (Gene) Kruk and Jamaes Goff, of Sparta; sisters-in-law, Marilyn (John) Donskey of Sparta, Kim Wegner of Sparta, and Gweneth Wegner of Mindoro; and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Sandra is preceded in death by her 13 year old son, Danny who passed away in 1983; parents, Newell and Leone Goff; brother, Bill Goff; and sister, Carol Laxton.

Private family services will be held at a later time.
