Scott J. Hoffman

Scott J. Hoffman, 60, of Sparta, passed away Monday, July 17, 2023 in his home. He was born on March 30, 1963 to Douglas and Jacquelyn (Martin) Hoffman in Sparta, WI. 

Growing up, you could catch Scott raising heck on the streets of Sparta with his brother and friends. He was a wild child who loved anything fast. He loved to ride snowmobiles, motorcycles and four wheelers and cruise the back roads. He also, loved hunting with his dad, brother, uncles and cousins every November and dressing his nieces and nephews up for a picture in his orange vest. He worked various jobs over the years including working on a dude ranch in Montana and loved sharing stories about his time there. He ultimately moved back to Wisconsin and joined his brother, Greg Hoffman, where they maintained not only a business together, but an amazing banter filled bond. For the last 25 years, they have worked side by side jamming to music and painting and wall papering houses and businesses around Sparta and the surrounding area. Scott was the kind of guy who liked to have a good time and laugh. He always had a joke, story or funny comment followed by and infectious laugh that instantly put a smile on your face. Not only was he loved by his family, but his large family of friends. His presence will be dearly missed by anyone who was lucky to have known him. 

He is survived by his sister, Kim Wegner; his brother, Greg (Kim) Hoffman; his nieces, Ergiwander-Erin (Cory) Christopherson, Hilereaster-Hilary (Kiel) Burnstad, and Alissa Hoffman; his nephews, Seth (Tara) Hoffman and Jeremy (Sarah) Hoffman; great nephews and nieces, Kaylee, Garet, Reece, Levi, Ethan, Marshall, Daphne, Penelope, Layla, Grayson, Ryder and Cora. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Jacquelyn (Martin) Hoffman; his brother, Kevin; sister, Patricia; maternal grandparents, Hugh and Eda Martin; paternal grandparents, Steve and Alice Hoffman; brother in law, Rodney Wegner and niece, Jessica Hoffman

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Harris Crossing in Sparta, WI starting at 2pm. Online condolences may be offered at www.schanhoferfh.com
