Spencer J. Warner

Spencer J. Warner, 74, of Appleton, WI, died unexpectedly Friday, September 17, 2021 at Aurora St. Luke's Hospital, Milwaukee, WI. He was born on October 9, 1946, to Spencer and Lillian (Kuehl) Warner in Sparta, where he was raised and had graduated from Sparta High School. 

Spencer married Kandis Eckelberg on October 14, 1967 at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Ontario, WI. They lived in Sparta their first few years where they both worked for Northern Engraving. In 1970 they moved to Beloit, WI and started their family. Spencer worked at Chrysler Corp. in Belvidere, IL for 32 years and in addition to, owned and managed rental properties. In retirement, he worked part time at Wal-Mart and then transferred to Willis, TX in 2007 to enjoy lake views and warmer winters. In 2017, they decided to move back to Wisconsin so they could be closer to their family. Spence loved nature, fishing, hunting, watching wrestling and auto racing, making his loved ones laugh and most of all spending time with his family.

Spencer is survived by his wife, Kandis "Kandy" Warner of Appleton; children, Jared (Erin) Warner of Beloit, Derrick (Billie Jo) Warner of Beloit, Kimberly Warner (Philip) of Appleton; nine grandchildren, Adam (Jessica), Chelsea (Robert), Emily (Jacob), Leah (Stephen), Gavin, Jarin, Trever, Jaden, and Hailey; eight great grandchildren, Justice, Carter, Aubrey, Charlotte, Rosalie, Ethan, Mathias and Colson; siblings, Judy (William) Dicke of Clear Lake, FL, Ken (Candace)Warner of Sparta, Patty Solchenberger of Sparta, and Steven Warner of Oshkosh; Countless nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Spencer and Lillian, infant son, Randy Warner; brother, Ronald Warner; brother-in-law, Allen Solchenberger.

The family would like to give a special thanks of gratitude to the medical staff at Thedacare Appleton, ThedaStar MedFlight and St. Luke's Milwaukee for the exceptional care they showed Spence during his stay with them. He couldn't say enough good things about everyone that cared for him during this time.

Per Spence's request, there will not be a viewing, but family and friends are invited to a visitation from 3 p.m. and a prayer service will follow at 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation, Sparta, with Reverend Mark Kvale officiating.
